Jason & Veronica's Wedding

Jo Cates and Mountain Top Chapel provided the perfect setting for our October wedding. All we had to do was show up with a wedding certificate and they took care of the rest. Between the ceremony, reception, photography, and video, we were in awe of how professional and accommodating the planning and execution of our special day was for both of us. They did a spectacular job creating all the value of a luxurious wedding for a reasonable price. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay at least one night in their cozy cabins, either!

My bride and I were so impressed with the work Jo Cates did for us before, during and after the ceremony. She was a true inspiration to us throughout the process. You won't believe your eyes when you see her 'art', considering she not only photographed the entire day, but she also coordinated every detail and scheduled all of the catering.  She was an absolute pleasure to work with in achieving the most perfect wedding ceremony and reception we could ask for. She was able to provide for all of our requests and make the day so special and effortless for the bride and groom.

Beautiful location and natural setting throughout the year! Amenities for the wedding party were very accommodating.

Kevin & Heather's Wedding

Our wedding was one of a kind. Ms. Jo was so helpful in planning the wedding. From the moment you arrive until you depart, you are treated like royalty. I have never been so impressed with someone as I am with Ms. Jo. She takes care of everything. You don't have to mess around with a larger number of vendors or worry about who has been paid and who has not. She takes care of everything. From planning the wedding to the photos and video, the cake, rehearsal, and reception. The decorating she does is so elegant and breath taking. MY husband and myself were truly blown away when we walked into the reception hall.

Ms. Jo was a true inspiration and a main ingredient to my wedding. An absolute pleasure to have worked with her and making my dream come true.  When ordering the photos and DVD be prepared to be blown away with how wonderfully they are put together and the cover is so personal and beautiful. Over all the only thing I can really say is it was way more then what I excepted. I would have everyone I know get married there.

Brannon & April's Wedding

"It was finally the day! For good luck it was raining and boy did it rain. Jo Cates was prepared however! It was still a beautiful ceremony. There were golf umbrellas and I never got a drop on me. I made it to the doors with my dad standing there and looked into the chapel at my groom. Everything was perfect. The unity candle had our names on it and the candlelight was so beautiful next to bridesmaids and groomsmen. We loved our minister Jimmy Cook. He was the sweetest older man ever!

This venue I recommend to be the best most reasonable for your money. It is VERY well priced. WE had EVERYTHING included for 4K. Its a beautiful mountain setting with so many things to do for your honeymoon stay up there. My husband and I went riding on our bike up and down the mountain and to the little White House which was really neat. We are coming back for a weekend to stay at the sunset cabin again to go horseback riding and hiking nearby!

Before the reception we had pictures. Jo was very creative and let us tell her any kind of pictures we wanted to include. She is a very talented and wonderful person to work with. The reception was so much fun! Our guest LOVED the food and our cake was absolutely beautiful! Everything was done just right! we had our own little special table to sit at and toast glasses with bride and groom written on them!

I loved every moment of it! My favorite part of the ceremony was looking into my husbands eyes and saying our vows. It was a perfect wedding! It went by sooo fast! I cant wait to see our pictures and video!"

Clinton & Nakia's Wedding

"Our theme was a fairytale wedding and two hearts/one love. The weather was crazy that weekend.  It went from storming to the sun shining to snow! And it made everything just perfect. Jo Cates was truly an angel. She made the process go very smoothly and it was exuberating to have her help.  She displayed lots of patience.  Jo Cates kept in constant contact with us during the whole planning process. She was very clear on prices and was always listened to what our opinions were. Also, we like the fact that everything was in ONE place. It made it easy for our guests.
Our reception was just wonderful. The setup was beautiful. We had our own band, but the decor and the food was very elegant. Ms. Cates was there guiding us every step of the way. People were dancing and really enjoying themselves.

My favorite part of the venue was simply the outdoors. The mountain setting was just breath-taking. We took lots of picture outside and inside. Ms. Cates is definitely an attribute to Mountain Top Inn and Resort. We plan to go back next year for our 1 year anniversary."
 

Arron & Jennifer's Wedding

"We searched long and hard for a venue that wouldn't break the bank. Pretty much everywhere else was going to cost in excess of $10k with many exceeding $15k. Everything is extra everywhere else. Not so at Mountain Top Inn. When they say the wedding, including reception is under $5k, they mean it. In addition to the chapel, they provide all the flowers, candles, ribbons and bows, just everything. Reception included the wedding cake, groom's cake, two kinds of punch, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit bowl, bubbles for the exit, sound equipment, you name it.

Jo was a joy to work with. She acted as wedding planner, photographer, reception supervisor, etc. She kept everyone on track without ever being overbearing. Everyone loved her! I highly recommend Mountain Top Inn and Jo Cates! 

This was a small wedding so the chapel was perfect. We had about 55 guests and the chapel seats about 80. The setting was perfect. Flowers were fresh and beautiful. The fact that the chapel is equipped with multiple video cameras is a huge plus. We can't wait for the wedding video.  The reception was just excellent. Jo handled everything. All we did was provide the music for the first dance, father/daughter dance and mother/son dance. The wedding cake was beautiful and the grooms cake was great as well. Quality was excellent and the cakes were beautiful. Everyone had a wonderful time. That the reception was right next to the chapel made it extremely convenient for our guests. They got to start eating right away while wedding photos were being taken.  It's difficult to say what part of the ceremony was my favorite. It was all so perfect."

Barrie & Dixie's Wedding

"This review pertains, in fact, not to the Hotel itself but to one of their services - namely the choreography of a wedding. I understand their claim to be, that if a lady provides a groom, a dress and a license, they will do the rest. They did! And they did it in style.

Our wedding went like a dream, from start to finish, as close to perfect as we could have wanted. We didn't have to worry about anything. The Chapel and Reception room looked lovely, with great attention to detail and personalizing the event. We had a "practice run" an hour and a half prior to the service, where we were taken through the whole marital process step by step, and then we went to our separate dressing rooms to put on our wedding attire.
The service went like clockwork, with some nice little touches that I hadn't expected, namely the lighting of a special "unity candle" and my own tolling of the Chapel bell (good job I'd had my breakfast)

After a very well organized photo session, my wife and I went through to the reception hall to be greeted by our guests. The organizers had promised us that no one would go hungry and in all honesty, they were right. The buffet was generous, varied, attractive and tasty.

The whole event was orchestrated to perfection. Don't get me wrong, there was no undue pressure, it was all beautifully relaxed but managed extremely professionally.
We're back to normal now, and getting plenty of feedback from our guests by phone, email and face to face. The unanimous verdict is that it was one of the prettiest, nicest weddings they've been to and, whilst I promised I'd be honest, I have to agree.

Subsequently, we received the DVD and photographs (within one week, I might add) and, yet again, we were totally impressed. The DVD was - is - quite simply super, professionally presented, good quality, nicely edited and comprehensively covers "our day". In short, my new wife and I have absolutely no complaints or criticisms and the feedback from our guests has also been very positive."

Mitch & Mischa's Wedding

"The setting is quaint and lovely. The cabins are well-kept and the staff is available at a moments notice. We had our wedding in the chapel and it was the sweetest time of our lives. Jo and her staff did everything humanly possible to make sure that not only did the wedding run smoothly, but that our stay was memorable. Brides, if you are looking for a place to hold an all-inclusive smaller wedding, look no further than Mountain Top.

I found that all of the food, cakes, flowers, etc. was outstanding and the price was very much in my budget....and since I work full-time, I didn't have the time to contact a lot of vendors. Jo and I spoke a total of about 4 times on the phone and emailed back and forth about 10 and she got every detail right-on. Even in the month after the wedding, she will answer any questions you have and make sure that you are still happy. Not only did we get the best pictures and video, but we didn't have to wait months and months like some other photographers have you wait. Thank you, Mountain Top Inn and Jo Cates!"

Andrew & Carrie's Wedding

Mother of bride: "We arrived from all over the country on Friday - staying in cabins, the Lodge, and a theme room. Everyone enjoyed their accommodations.  We began planning the wedding in February and I spoke with Jo via telephone and email constantly. She was great! All of our questions were answered in a timely manner and everything we wanted was done to perfection. It was sooo nice having a coordinator to handle all of the details. (I think one problem that occurs is that you hire a coordinator who knows what she is doing and then you try to micro manage. If you're hiring someone to handle the little details, then let them do it and just enjoy the experience). The ceremony was so beautiful in the chapel - we were using our own music and the AV guy did a great job with it. Everyone thought the service was moving and special and the minister read the most beautiful verses and spoke to the bride and groom in such a personal way. Jo took a ton of photographs - and I can't wait to see them. We then moved to the reception center next door, (there is a more formal restaurant in the office that can also be used for receptions, but we were having a more informal reception). The food was perfect and every time something ran out it was immediately replaced. There was dancing and laughing and much love and joy. If you are looking for a beautiful location for a small event, VERY reasonable prices, and stress free wedding planning - this is the place to go. If you want to micro manage an affair for 500 with a sit down dinner, live band and such - then this isn't for you. By the way - the flowers were also beautiful. My daughter's bouquet was white roses and mini calla lilies. She loved it! I will post photos when they are available.

Finally - everyone we met at Mountain Top was great. Front desk personnel were helpful and friendly, Jo Cates went above and beyond to accommodate us, the caterers were great, the florist arranged beautiful flowers, etc...
