While there’s no single way to spend time in Pine Mountain Georgia, we’ve designed this five-day itinerary to cover the places and things that make our area so unique, beautiful, and fun for all ages. Let your adventures begin!

Day 1: Warm Springs

Spend your morning stretching your legs while getting acquainted with the beautiful FD Roosevelt State Park and the Pine Mountain Trail on a hike to the waterfall. On the way to the trailhead, stop at Dowdell’s Knob to experience the spectacular view where President Roosevelt spent afternoons grilling with his closest friends.

Venture on to the Historic Town of Warm Springs to visit Little White House or spend time antiquing. Don’t miss a tasting at Warm Springs Winery.

Day 2: Pine Mountain

Venture off to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain for the most up close and personal experience with wildlife you can imagine. On the way back, spend some time shopping the quaint historic town of Pine Mountain. Grab dinner at one of the excellent eateries. Finish the day around the stone fire pit, roasting marshmallows and stargazing.

Day 3: Columbus, GA

Take the short and scenic drive to Columbus where you can raft down the Chattahoochee River on the world’s longest urban whitewater course. The adventurous may want to schedule their rafting later in the day when the dam release creates some of the largest class 5 rapids in the Eastern U.S. Explore the great mix of architecture, public art, shopping, and restaurants that are in Historic Uptown Columbus.

Day 4: Callaway Gardens

Rent bikes at Callaway Gardens and enjoy a ride around the park, stopping at the attractions along the way. Sit by the lake at Robin Beach, watch the Birds of Prey show, or spend an hour on the zip line at Treetop Adventure. Finish the day relaxing by the Mountain Top Pool, watching the sunset and grilling outdoors. If you don’t feel like cooking, head over to Carriage and Horses Restaurant.

Day 5: Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park

Breakfast at the Country Kitchen, a short drive through the State Park from the resort, provides a view like no other and allows you to experience some of the beautiful buildings built by Roosevelt’s Civilian Conservation Corps. Pick up a souvenir at the park store on the way back or stop and hike a trail. An afternoon horseback ride at Roosevelt Stables to the overlook completes your Pine Mountain Experience.

As you wind up your week relaxing on the porch or in the hot tub of your cabin, feel free to contemplate your next trip to Pine Mountain and Mountain Top Inn and Resort—where a completely new set of adventures will wait.
